Necrobarista: Final Pour Will Get A Limited Physical Copy Run For Switch

Necrobarista: Final Pour, a visual novel that has only ever been available via digital download, is set to receive a limited run of physical copies for Nintendo Switch courtesy of Super Rare Games.

Providing the game with a one-time run of just 4,000 copies, the London-based producer/distributor is promoting the game’s physical release as a chance for software collectors to add a rare find to their displays beginning later this week, according to a press release issued by Super Rare late last week.

Set in Melbourne, Australia, Necrobarista centers around a coffee shop where the recently dead can make a one-time return to the world of the living, albeit only for 24 hours. The story-driven, supernatural game is a visual novel without much in the way of physical action, but it does include first-person free-roaming segments and some limited forms of animation not usually seen in the visual novel genre. While the art style present in the game draws inspiration from anime and manga, it still manages to stand out from similar titles by not conforming to the two-dimensional style typical to other games of its kind.

Originally slated for release in 2017, lengthy development issues pushed the game’s premiere on Steam and GOG back to July 2020. The game, made by Australian developer Route 59, eventually made its way to Switch as a digital download exclusive title in August 2021 in its current Final Pour version.
